2006 NPC Mid-Florida Classic - 127 Entries

The 2006 NPC Mid-Florida Muscle Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships were held on June 17 at the Dr. Phillips High School Auditorium in Orlando under the promotion of Central Florida Vice-Chairman Deke Warner and set a new record with 127 competitors entered. ..... ..... Thirty-one-year-old Marc Wasko of Orlando took the majority of first place votes from the judges for the heavyweight class win. ..... ..... Marc then entered the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners to decide the overall title. ..... ..... The competition was very close as a three-way tie developed - - - the high and low scores were then dropped and Marc Wasko emerged with a one-point advantage for the overall decision. ..... ..... Veteran competitor Lucy Wilson, 31, of Jacksonville dominated the middleweight class by taking all first place votes from the judges for the class win. ..... ..... Lucy then moved into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and once again captured all first place votes for the unanimous overall decision. ..... ..... Rochelle Rene, 25, of Orlando was unopposed in the Fitness Division. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes and it was first time competitor Shawna Brown, 22, of Windermere scoring a two-round total of 18 points to take the short class win. ..... ..... Shawna then entered into the final comparisons of the class winners and took the majority of first place votes from the judging panel for the overall decision.

The 2006 NPC Southeastern Gold’s Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships, a national qualifier, was held on June 17 at the Wallace Hall Auditorium in Gadsden, AL under the promotion of Stace Beecham and the Gold’s Gym on Rainbow City. ..... ..... Thirty-seven-year old Steve Cowan of Cedartown, GA took the majority of first place votes from the judges to take the heavyweight class win. ..... ..... Steve then moved into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and scored all first place votes for the unanimous victory and overall title. ..... ..... Amy Roberson, 29, of Calhoun, GA was unopposed in the middleweight class. ..... ..... Amy entered into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and took a one-point (7 - 8) decision for the overall win. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes with a total of 22 athletes competing. ..... ..... Veteran competitor Kym Spiller, 33, of Birmingham, AL scored a two-round total of 12 points to take the tall class win. ..... ..... Kym then entered into the final comparison of the class winners and took a 3-point (6 - 9) decision for the overall title.

Patrick Lewis, 33, of Asheville, NC dominated the middleweight class by taking all first place votes from the judges for the class win. ..... ..... Patrick then moved into the final comparisons and the pose down of the class winners and once again was the pick of the judges for the overall title. ..... ..... Forty-year-old Connie Evans of Knoxville, TN was unopposed in the lightweight class and after the final comparisons and pose down was the choice of the judging panel for the overall win. ..... ..... First time NPC competitor Wendy Gardner, 33, of Nashville, TN was unopposed in the Fitness Division. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes and it was Valerie Haines, 26, of Hermitage, TN taking all first place votes in both rounds of the competition for a total of 10 points for the unanimous short class win. ..... ..... Valerie then entered into the final comparisons of the class winners and was the choice of the judges for the overall win.

Paul Frisk, 38, of San Antonio, TX was making his third Cajun Classic appearance and dominated the heavyweight class by capturing all first place votes from the judges for the class win. ..... ..... Paul then entered into the final comparisons and pose down and was the pick of the judges for the overall win. ..... ..... Veteran competitor LaQuida Sanders, 33, of Jackson, MS was making the switch from Figure to Bodybuilding and took all first place votes from the judging panel to take the heavyweight class win by a unanimous decision. ..... ..... LaQuida entered into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and was the choice of the judges for the overall title. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into two height classes and Casey Curtis, 27, of Bossier City, LA dominated the short class by taking all first place votes in both rounds of the competition for a total of 10 points for the unanimous class win. ..... .....
