The University of Central Florida Arena on the University of Central Florida Campus in Orlando was the location for the 2006 NPC Florida State Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure and Masters Championships on September 9 under the promotional efforts of Deke Warner. ..... ..... Veteran competitor Rodney Burton, 36, of Valrico faced tough competition from eight other athletes in the lightheavyweight class to take the majority of the first place votes from the judges for the class win. ..... ..... Rodney then moved into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and edged out a one-point (7 - 8) decision for the overall title. ..... ..... Ashalyn Porter, 34, of Middleburg took a one-point (7 - 8) decision for the heavyweight class win and moved into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners to take the majority of the first place votes from the judges for the overall win. ..... ..... Rochelle Rene, 25, of Orlando was unopposed in the Fitness Division. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into four height classes with a total of 26 athletes entered. ..... ..... Amy Wilson, 26, of Daytona Beach grabbed all first place votes in both rounds of the competition for a total of 10 points for the unanimous Class B win. ..... ..... Amy then moved into the final comparisons of the class winners and took the majority of the first place votes from the judges for the division title.

The 2006 NPC Alabama State Bodybuilding and Figure Championships were held on August 19 at the Alys Stephens Center in Birmingham under the promotional efforts of the Alabama State Chairman Scott Lyons. ..... ..... Stacy Seals, 42, of Jasper was making his first contest appearance in 17 years took all first place votes from the judges for the unanimous lightheavyweight class win. ..... ..... Stacy then moved into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and once again captured all first place votes from the judges for the unanimous overall decision. ..... ..... Suzanne Williams, 41, of Pelham was unopposed in the heavyweight class. ..... ..... Suzanne entered into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and was the unanimous choice of the judges for the overall title. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes with a total of 16 athletes competing. ..... ..... Heather Henslee, 31, of Gadsden took a two-round total of 10 points for the unanimous class win. ..... ..... Heather then entered into the final comparisons of the class winners and took the majority of the first place votes for the division title.

The 2006 NPC Excalibur, the last national qualifier for South Carolina for the year, was held at the West Ashley High School Auditorium in Charleston on August 26 under the promotional efforts of Glenn Herring and Tres Bennett. ..... ..... Eric Powell, 34, of Lexington, SC dominated the heavyweight class by taking all first place votes from the judges for the unanimous class win. ..... ..... Eric then entered into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and once again took all first place votes for the unanimous decision. ..... ..... Tamra Fell of Rincon, GA captured all first place votes from the judges for the unanimous middleweight class win. ..... ..... Tamra then moved into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and once again took all first place votes for the unanimous overall title. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes with a total of 17 athletes entered. ..... ..... First time competitor Andie Robinson, 27, of Surfside Beach, SC took a two-round total of 10 points for the unanimous medium class win. ..... ..... Andie then moved into the final comparisons of the class winners and once again captured all first place votes from the judges for the division title.

The 2006 NPC Mountaineer was held on September 23 at the Farthing Auditorium on the campus of the Applachian State University in Boone, NC under the promotion of Roger Morrison and Morrison Productions. ..... ..... William Powell, 46, of Greensboro, NC faced tough opposition in the middleweight class and was the pick of the judges for the class win. ..... ..... William then entered into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and once again got the nod from the judges for the overall title. ..... ..... Lakesha Richardson, 29, of Chesapeake, VA took the middleweight class win and after the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners was the pick of the judges for the overall win. ..... ..... First time competitor Leigh Ann Yeager, 26, of Durham, NC was unopposed in the Fitness Division. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes with a total of 19 athletes competing for the title. ..... ..... Jessica Kerley, 25, of Clarksville, TN was the pick of the judges for the tall class win. ..... ..... Jessica then moved into the final comparisons of the class winners and once again was the choice of the judges for the overall title.

2006 NPC Lakeland Classic Championships

The Branscomb Memorial Auditorium was the venue for the 2006 NPC Lakeland Classic Bodybuilding and Figure Championships on September 23 under the promotion of Debbie and Jack Callahan and Deb’s Gym. ..... ..... Thom Newburg, 38, of Lakeland dominated the heavyweight class by taking all first place votes from the judges for the unanimous class win. ..... ..... Thom then entered into the final comparisons and pose down of the class winners and once again captured all first place votes for the overall title. ..... ..... Paula Batista, 22, of Lakeland was making her second contest appearance and was unopposed in the heavyweight class and by virtue of being the only women’s competitor was automatically the overall women’s champion. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes with a total of 18 athletes competing. ..... ..... First time competitor Susi Aviles, 36, of Lakeland took a two round total of 14 points for the short class win. ..... ..... Susi then moved into the final comparisons of the class winners and was the unanimous choice of the judges for the overall title.
